Natural Selection Jackson Hole – Day 1 Highlights

The first day of the 2021 Natural Selection Jackson Hole delivered. Incredible pow, incredible course and incredible riding set the tone throughout the day. Travis Rice and team have outdone themselves yet again. They have assembled a competitive squad of the best snowboarders on the planet to complete on the perfect backcountry-style course.

The list of riders is extensive: Gig Ruf, Eric Jackson, Mark McMorris, Chris Rasmen, Pat Moore, Jamie Anderson, Hana Beaman, Elena Hight, Anna Gasser, Hailey Langland, and so many more.

An interesting aspect to this event compared to previous Natural Selection events, that occurred in Jackson Hole (2008) and Baldface (2012, 2013), respectively is the number of young riders. It’s very cool that this event is brining a new generation of capable freestyle snowboarders. These are riders – like Anna Gasser for example – who normally thrive in a park environment with X Games and Olympic medals – but now are testing their metal in the pow.
